Red bag book rotation program and 5-week book sharing seminars offered in different locations in Chelsea in order to increase book access and provide parent education to promote parent-child book sharing, prepare children for academic success, and end the cycle of low literacy, enroll through one of the many partner organizations.

Reach Out & Read
Reach Out and Read is a nonprofit organization that gives young children a foundation for success by incorporating books into pediatric care and encouraging families to read aloud together. Reach Out and Read medical providers give books to children at more than 10 well-child visits from infancy until they start school. They encourage families to read aloud and engage with their infants, toddlers and preschoolers every day. MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center Pediatrics Department offers the Reach Out and Read Program.
Roca – Young Men; Pay for Success
Dedicated to transforming the lives of the most high-risk young people ages 17-24. Helps young people re-engage in society and moves them toward outcomes of reduced criminal involvement, economic management, educational, employment, and life skills programming including GED preparation and pre-vocational trainings.
Roca – Young Mothers Program
Serving over 140 young mothers ages 12-24 from Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, Everett, Malden and Somerville, disrupting the cycle of violence and poverty. Use a two generation approach which integrates mother-child brain building and executive functioning activities.
Room to Grow
Every 3 months family visits center for support and clothing, books, resources. Includes 2-hour sessions with 1:1 support for development of child prenatally through age 3.
