Join us for our 20TH YEAR Celebrating National Family Literacy month with our Chelsea Reads event!
National Family Literacy Month is celebrated every year in November to recognize the crucial role families play in fostering reading and learning skills.
During Chelsea Reads we will be showcasing all the fun and simple ways for Families to learn together! In homes, at schools, and across communities, families can connect with each other and with literacy by talking, playing, and engaging with one another. This year our event will double down on key messages we learned form our Summer Reading Theme and remind families that learning through play is such a valuable way to learn!
Taking place on Saturday November 1st, from 10am-3pm, join us for this interactive, Family Friendly Festivity!
There will be special guest Readers like
- City Manager Fidel Maltez,
- Chelsea Schools Superintendent Dr. Almi Abeyta,
- District 5 Councilor Lisa Santagate
- …. and more!
Lots of community Organizations will be hosting activities and passing out information about their organization – there will be games, and crafts for all ages.
As always, every youth who attends will get a free bag of books while supply lasts!
We will also have a pair of Not-So-Secret surprise guests making an appearance – beloved Friend Duo, Elephant And Piggie! Characters from a popular book series by Mo Willems.
