Need help to keep your Small businesses Afloat During COVID-19? Want to start your start-up in Chelsea? The Micro Enterprise Grant Program has been created by Chelsea’s Department of Housing and Community of Development as another source of relief for small businesses in Chelsea affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program was designed to provide support for the establishment, stabilization and expansion of qualifying micro enterprises in the City.
Eligible micro enterprises — businesses with five or fewer employees — are invited to apply for consideration to receive the grant award. Grant recipients will obtain up to $10,000 to cover various operating costs for up to three months, including rent, utilities, salaries and benefits and more.

¿Necesita ayuda para mantener a flote sus pequeñas empresas durante el COVID-19? ¿Quieres iniciar tu empresa en Chelsea? El Programa de subvenciones para microempresas ha sido creado por el Departamento de Vivienda y Comunidad de Desarrollo de Chelsea como otra fuente de ayuda para las pequeñas empresas de Chelsea afectadas por la pandemia de COVID-19. El programa fue diseñado para brindar apoyo para el establecimiento, estabilización y expansión de microempresas calificadas en la Ciudad.

    Dear Chelsea Families:

    We are looking forward to the new school year as all of our staff and students return to school with renewed energy and enthusiasm.  I am writing to provide several updates as the first day of school is just around the corner,  the first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is September 1, 2021 and prek – kindergarten is September 8, 2021.

    This fall, students and staff will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. We made this decision based on the recommendations of the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    While we are happy to bring all of our students back to in person instruction this year, Chelsea Public Schools is committed to the health and safety of its staff and students.  Thus, a layered approach to COVID-19 prevention will continue in the upcoming school year:

    • Mandatory face coverings inside buildings
    • Social distancing during lunch time for students
    • On-site routine Covid Safety Checks of staff and students
    • Availability of rapid testing for students and staff members showing signs of illness while at school with guardian consent
    • Quarantine and contact tracing protocols
    • Thorough cleaning and sanitization practices
    • Hand sanitizer located throughout the school buildings
    • Ongoing maintenance of the HVAC and ventilation systems

    This FAQ document will answer many basic questions you might have about the 2021-2022 school year.

    Estimadas Familias de Chelsea:

    Esperamos con ansias el nuevo año escolar, ya que todo nuestro personal y estudiantes regresan a la escuela con renovada energía y entusiasmo. Le escribo para proporcionar varias actualizaciones ya que el primer día de clases está a la vuelta de la esquina, el primer día de clases para los estudiantes en los grados del 1-12 es el 1 de septiembre de 2021 y Pre-k  & Kindergarten es el 8 de septiembre de 2021.

    Este otoño, los estudiantes y el personal deberán usar máscaras, independientemente del estado de vacunación. Tomamos esta decisión basándonos en las recomendaciones de los CDC y la Academia Estadounidense de Pediatría.

    Si bien estamos felices de traer a todos nuestros estudiantes de regreso a la instrucción en persona este año, las Escuelas Públicas de Chelsea están comprometidas con la salud y seguridad de su personal y estudiantes. Por lo tanto, un enfoque en capas para la prevención de COVID-19 continuará en el próximo año escolar:

    • Revestimientos faciales obligatorios dentro de los edificios
    • Distanciamiento social durante la hora del almuerzo para los estudiantes
    • Rutina de Controles de Seguridad de Covid en el lugar del personal y los estudiantes
    • Disponibilidad de pruebas rápidas para estudiantes y miembros del personal que muestren signos de enfermedad mientras están en la escuela con el consentimiento del tutor
    • Protocolos de cuarentena y seguimiento de contactos
    • Prácticas exhaustivas de limpieza y desinfección
    • Desinfectante de manos ubicado en todos los edificios escolares
    • Mantenimiento continuo de los sistemas de ventilación y climatización (HVAC)

    Este documento de Preguntas Frecuentes responderá muchas preguntas básicas que pueda tener sobre el año escolar 2021-2022.
