Cocinas Saludables

The Chelsea Record covers the Cocinas Saludables program, a collaboration with chef, Jose Barriga. The healthy cooking class series for adults are taught in Spanish and designed for recent immigrants to cook familiar cultural dishes in a way that’s very quick, affordable, and healthy. So far, he has held classes for community members at the Intergenerational Literacy Program in Chelsea and the Chelsea Collaborative.

Community Health Education

In June 2018, Amy Izen, our Early Childhood Initiative Coordinator, was featured along with several community partners in a 30 minute panel discussion on Chelsea Community Cable TV’s Community Health Education show. The segment was called “Our Children, Our Health.”
