Kendra Dawsey is the School Programs Manager of Healthy Chelsea. In her position, she works closely with Chelsea School Food Services and the district around cafeteria improvement initiatives. Additionally, she helps coordinate school garden programming in Chelsea’s public schools, and co-leads Youth Food Movement, a youth internship program focused on bringing student voice into school food and food justice issues in the community.
Before coming to Healthy Chelsea, Kendra worked with public school teachers and administrators to promote healthy eating and outdoor learning spaces at Common Ground in New Haven, CT, first as a FoodCorps service member and then as the CT Schoolyards Program Coordinator. She is excited to continue working with youth to create a healthier environment!
Kendra holds a B.A. in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration from Yale University. In her free time, she enjoys reading about labor movements.
