10am – 11am – A walking tour led by Lee Farrington and Marsha Johnson leaves from 60 Tudor Street and ends at the Governor Bellingham-Cary House.

11am – 2pm – An Open House at Governor Bellingham-Cary House, 34 Parker Street, with special remarks between 12pm – 1pm. 

2pm – 6pm – Chelsea Chamber of Commerce Marketplace with Family Activities in the Temple Emmanuel Courtyard (entrance on Gardner Street at Cary Ave)

National Poetry Month celebrates poems and poets with events taking place nationwide in April. Established by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, the goal is to increase the visibility of the poetic form, as well as to increase access to it.
To Celebrate this year – submit a poem to the Chelsea Public Library for a chance to be featured on our website or displayed in our reading rooms.
You can submit your poem below, or email to coclibrary@chelseama.gov . You are also able to drop poems off at our cirulation desk!

El Mes Nacional de la Poesía celebra los poemas y los poetas con actos en todo el país en abril. Establecido por la Academia de Poetas Americanos en 1996, el objetivo es aumentar la visibilidad de la forma poética, así como aumentar el acceso a la misma.
