CineFest Latino Boston Inaugural Community Screening

Dear Chelsea Community!

You are cordially invited to attend CineFest Latino Boston’s inaugural Community Screening, which kicks off its annual festival from September 25 to 29. This event is also part of the festivities celebrating Chelsea’s 400th anniversary. We are thrilled to offer this screening free of charge, made possible by a generous grant from the Chelsea Heritage Foundation and the Barr Foundation.

CineFest Latino Boston™ is an annual film festival conducted in Boston, highlighting stories by and about Latinos. The festival is committed to using the power of film to break stereotypes, bring cultures and communities together and reveal the complex issues affecting the Latinx community in the United States, as well as communities in Latin America and Spain. Learn more about the festival here.

This evening’s program features a special screening of RAISING THE FLOOR, a poignant narrative about Chelsea’s community – your community –  uniting to feed neighbors and strangers during an unprecedented public health crisis. It tells the inspiring story of local leaders and community members whose sense of helplessness and concern for Chelsea residents spurred bold policy innovations.

The screenings will be followed by a community talkback, featuring a facilitated organic conversation. All films are subtitled, and translations will be available at the event.
