When it comes to learning a new language, conversation is a key factor to success but one that is the least accessible to new language learners. La Colaborativa’s Cafecito Hours create a risk free, safe space for our ESOL students to practice their English in a real-world setting.
“I have noticed that Cafecito Hours have changed the attitude and motivation of English learners.” says Hortencia Sanchez, ESOL & Workforce Development Coordinator. “They are more comfortable making mistakes in a setting where students like them are also learning English. The whole purpose of Cafecito is to motivate people to speak and make mistakes in order to gradually improve their English.”
