Last week, we announced our plan to allocate approximately $2 million in State Opioid Settlement Funds to distribute grants to local organizations and individuals committed to delivering activities and events designed to promote the prevention and intervention of opioid use in our community.
As part of these efforts, Chelsea has launched an Opioid Abatement Micro Grant Program open to Chelsea-based organizations and individuals. Each year, grants of up to $2,500 will be available as the funding schedule allows.
In addition, the City has already awarded two large grants to CAPIC and Roca to be incrementally paid out over the next three years, and has dedicated funding to the Chelsea Police Department’s efforts to track and share data around overdoses.
