Chelsea Kiwanis Track & Field Event

Our favorite day of the year is fast approaching, Track & Field Day on September 23, 2023.

Track & Field is more than our signature project and is as much a service project as it is a “fundraiser.” Financially, it raises money to fund four annual scholarships for Chelsea Public Schools students going on to college, trade school, etc., which comes through sponsorship and donations. But on that day each September, it is also a chance for kids of all ages to gather to be active and have fun! The day begins with stretching and warm-ups. Then, in addition to the running races, there is a bouncy castle, hula hoop contests, potato sack races, water balloon tosses, and other fun activities.

We invite all students to participate and community partners to volunteer! #KiwanisCares

TRiO

TRiO is now accepting new members. Students must attend the Wright or Browne Middle School and be in grades 6th-8th to participate! TRiO Talent Search is hosted by Bunker Hill Community College and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The middle school program helps students prepare for the transition from middle school to high school while focusing on academic counseling, financial literacy workshops, college and career exploration, and taking steps to prepare for their future educational goals. Students who go onto Chelsea High School are given a high school TRiO Advisor, who will continue offering services and assistance from grades 9 through graduation.

Please send any interested students to the school library to pick up an application.
