Walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinics – Weekend schedule

For Chelsea Residents (ages 12+), the Pfizer vaccine will be administered at the clinics listed below. 

Friday, May 21 

  • Chelsea Senior Center (10 Riley Way) from 3 pm to 7 pm.
  • La Colaborativa’s Food Pantry (25 6th St.) from 4 pm to 8 pm.  (La Colaborativa team will host a youth clinic with music and a raffle).

Saturday, May 22 

  • Chelsea Senior Center (10 Riley Way) from 10 am to 5 pm.  (We’ll have the Copsicle-1 Chelsea PD Ice Cream Truck).

Sunday, May 23

  • Chelsea Senior Center (10 Riley Way) from 10 am to 5 pm.
  • Highland Park (30 Willow Street) from 2 pm to 7 pm.  (People who get vaccinated will receive one item of their preference (empanada, pupusa, or taco) and a soda)

Once you get the first shot, you’ll get an appointment for the second dose. Important information – If a parent or guardian is not present, the minor must bring a signed consent form and screening form on the day of their vaccination.

Hard copies of the forms are also available at Chelsea City Hall during business hours (Monday and Wednesday 9 am – 3 pm; Tuesday 9 am to 6 pm, and Friday 9 am to 11 am). 

For Chelsea Residents (ages 18+), the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered at the clinics listed below. 

Saturday, May 22

  • Fitzpatrick/Prattville Apartments (51 Exeter Street), 9am to 2pm

Sunday, May 23

  • Mace Apartments (449 Crescent Ave), 12pm to 5pm

Para los residentes de Chelsea (a partir de los 12 años), la vacuna Pfizer estará disponible en las clínicas a continuación:

Viernes 21 de mayo

Archive REGISTRATION REMINDER: Chelsea Mental Helpers Youth Pitch Event

The La Colaborativa Mental Health Awareness Youth Interns are preparing an online event called the Chelsea Mental Helpers Youth Pitch Event. Interns will be showcasing their design of a product, service, or public space that addresses mental health and wellness needs in the Chelsea community.

The Pitch is taking place on Monday May 17, 2021 from 4-6pm EST on Zoom. This event is for the interns to share our hard work and for Chelsea community members to see what ideas can help improve wellness in the neighborhood. Each pitch presentation will be followed by a Q&A. Please click the link below to register in order to receive the Zoom information. The First Annual Dowtown “Flower Take-Over” / La primera “Toma de flores” anual en el centro de la Ciudad de Chelsea

Get ready for the Downtown “Flower Take Over” on Saturday, May 22 from 9:00am-12:00pm. We invite you to take over a green space, and plant flowers and shrubberies till your heart contents. Tag your family and friends, and help beautify Chelsea Downtown!

All you need to do is reserve your green space by contacting devra@chelseacitystudio.com. The City will provide all the supplies (including flowers) and will take care of all the maintenance throughout the season.

Once you are done planting, just sit back and enjoy!

The City of Chelsea Massachusetts- Gov, GreenRoots & Mystic River Watershed Association will be accepting submissions of poems related to resilience for the upcoming trash cleanup at Island End Park this upcoming Saturday, May 22. One lucky poet will be invited to recite at the event and win a $50.00 gift card!

COVID-19 Vaccination

People age 12 and older who live, work, or study in Massachusetts can get vaccinated against COVID-19. People ages 12-17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine. People age 18 and older can get any vaccine. The vaccine is safe and effective. You don’t need an ID or insurance to get it.

Pre-register at https://vaccinesignup.mass.gov/#/ to receive the vaccine at one of the Commonwealth’s mass vaccination locations like the Hynes Convention Center or Reggie Lewis Center. When it’s your turn, you will be notified.

If you are unable to leave your home, please contact 311 Service at 617-466-4209 for assistance. We will put you on a waiting list for a future vaccination in your home.

If you are a patient of Mass General Hospital Chelsea or Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Chelsea, you can receive the vaccine from these health providers. You must be an existing patient and eligible for the vaccine. Both MGH and Beth Israel will reach out to eligible patients to schedule an appointment.

Free Transportation Services for Seniors 70+
Mystic Valley Elder Services(*) also offers free transportation services to eligible seniors who do not have other means to get to a vaccination site. Schedule your transportation at least two days before your vaccine appointment at You are responsible for making your vaccine appointment. Make sure to call (781) 324-7705. This service offers a ride to and from the vaccination site, and insurance is not needed.  It is curb to curb pick up, which means the person must be able to safely exit/enter their home. If the person needs a companion, a companion may ride along in plenty of time.

(*) This service should be reserved for individuals who do not  have the social support/ financial support to get to a vaccination site.
