The 2020 Virtual Event! Taste of Chelsea
The Taste of Chelsea will go virtual this year!
I know you are very busy, but I thought I would send this along to keep you and your staff in the know. This is a challenging time for nonprofits and businesses alike, and I hope you are doing well.
The Taste of Chelsea would normally be held under a tent at 99 Marginal St. in Chelsea, so graciously donated by Eastern Salt, with 450-500 other people. However, because of COVID-19, this year’s event will be virtual. It is a different approach to our usual fundraiser, and, yes, it is still a fundraiser. You will be asked to make a contribution by purchasing a virtual ticket.
This year’s Taste of Chelsea will encourage everyone to order takeout or delivery from a list of participating restaurants and virtually share a meal together while hearing the stories of local domestic violence survivors and learning more about the impact of the pandemic on our community.
As much as anything, we want people to come and find out about this great organization, HarborCOV, and what it is doing to stem the tide of domestic violence. The only agency focusing on our community, HarborCOV is one of many in Massachusetts who all work collaboratively to quell the violence and provide safe shelter and a way out for the victims. We are also asking you to support the restaurants that have been so helpful over the past 16 years in making this event such a successful fundraiser for our important programming.
We would be delighted if you would join us on Monday, Sept. 14 at 6:00 to 7:30 pm and learn more about this work we care about so deeply. The Taste of Chelsea Planning Committee is excited to reach as many people as possible. Please feel free to send this invitation to your friends and colleagues. Watch for more details on HarborCOV’s website: www.harborcov.org, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
If nothing else good can come out of the pandemic, at least we have the opportunity to “come together” even more than we typically do.

Encourage the young people in your life to think of ideas for bringing fun into your family’s daily routine. Whether it’s moving family dinners outdoors or setting up virtual game nights with friends, help them think outside the box and unleash their creativity.
Please check out our website for more resources, and help us to share them with others!
