TMPEC Family Advisory Outreach: Join our Family Advisory Committee!
On behalf of the Transforming MA Pediatrics for Early Childhood (TMPEC) project at the Department of Public Health. I recently joined the TMPEC team as an Implementation Specialist, and I am looking forward to collaborating with you! We are seeking your assistance in recruiting primary caregivers of a child under age 8 who receives care at who receives care Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, Chelsea Healthcare Center, Boston’s Children’s Primary Health Care Center, Boston’s Children’s Martha Elliot Center, DotHouse Health, Greater New Bedford Community Health Center, Holyoke Health Center, Revere Health Center or South Boston Community Health Center to be a part of our Family Advisory Committee for the TMPEC project.
The Family Advisory Committee will meet monthly and contribute to all aspects of the project, including developing resources for pediatric teams who work with young children and their families and providing input on best practices for engaging families in pediatricians’ offices. We expect there will be one 1-hour Advisory Committee meeting per month in addition to a 1-hour orientation. All participation will be compensated to support family members’ time and expertise.
Attached are TMPEC Family Advisory Committee flyers available in multiple languages with links to an interest form in those languages. Please share these flyers with primary caregivers who receive care from your team at Boston Children’s Hospital Primary Care Center who might be interested in participating. We are accepting interest forms during the month of August and plan to hold an orientation in September. Our team at DPH will reach out to caregivers who complete the form to introduce ourselves and the project and discuss the opportunity to participate.

2023 Chelsea Kiwanis Track & Field Day is fast approaching
Chelsea’s Track & Field Day needs your support!
There is about a month-and-a-half to go until the Chelsea Kiwanis Club’s 23rd Annual Track & Field Day event on Saturday, September 23rd. This event does more than get hundreds of Chelsea kids moving and enjoying silliness, racing, games, friendly competition, and a good meal. It also helps to fund our charitable commitments to the community, including four annual scholarships to college or trade school for graduating students at Chelsea High School (CHS), Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy (CVLA), and Chelsea Opportunity Academy (COA). So, we must ask for your financial support.
Our 2023 sponsor levels are:

We would appreciate confirming your sponsorship ASAP so that we can ensure that you receive all the sponsor benefits that are entitled to you.
Checks should be made out to “Chelsea Kiwanis Children’s Charity Fund” and mailed to P.O. Box 505092, Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150. Earlier this year we proudly established the Chelsea Kiwanis Children’s Charity Fund, which is a registered 501c(3); so all donations are now tax-deductible. Alternatively, tax-deductible contributions can be securely made using a credit or debit card at our website, www.chelseakiwanisclub.org. Just click on “Annual Track & Field Day” from the menu bar at the top of the page. Our non-profit tax ID number is 92-2577548. Please let us know if you need a W9 from us. What makes our Track & Field Day so special? First, we engage Chelsea’s youths to design a T-shirt for the event, awarding a substantial gift card to the winning designer. Then, on race day, the kids run races in their event shirts and compete in a hula hoop contest, potato sack races, three-legged races, etc. Local businesses supply food and drinks for a healthy meal. Medals are awarded on a podium flanked by the sponsors’ names. The Chelsea Police Department’s Copsicle truck distributes free ice cream. One boy and one girl will receive a backpack and a $200 gift card to purchase a new bike and bike helmet, or anything else they may need for school. At the Kiwanis International Convention in Indianapolis last summer, against finalists from Kiwanis Clubs in Italy, the Philippines, Jamaica, and six other U.S. states, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club won the Gold Prize for our Track & Field Day signature event. Judges appreciated the participation by our partners as well as the levels of involvement by the children. We are proud of our prior efforts and events, but the most important thing is, when you support our Track & Field Day event as a financial sponsor, you can be certain that it is a worthy local cause. On behalf of the Chelsea Kiwanis Club and its programs, thank you! Sincerely, |
