HEALTH ADVICE ON EATING FISH Lower Mystic River & Chelsea Creek area / CONSEJOS DE SALUD PARA COMER PESCADO el área de Lower Mystic River & Chelsea Creek
We are reaching out because we’re working on a public health campaign in Chelsea regarding the safety of consuming fish caught from the Lower Mystic River. It’s critical information because eating the wrong species of fish can make people sick and put their families at risk.
Our website (in English and Spanish) outlines the species of fish that are safe to catch and eat, includes a video (again in Spanish and English) plus additional sites for safe fishing, and we ask that you please share these resources with your community.
We have postcards available in English, Spanish, and Cantonese with this fish advisory information. We are happy to send you copies of these if you would like to have them to share with your community. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank you,
The Mystic River Watershed
